Thoughtful pricing. The truth.

We're glad you clicked this link. As soon as you buy a pair of our sunnies, good things happen thanks to you.

1. Our 100% recycled bottle plastic is processed and turned into your frames in Sydney, so everyone gets a fair wage.

2. Carl Zeiss Vision Australia cuts & fits your lenses in Adelaide.

3. Our dispatch centre is run by people with disability and their carers. They box up your order using 100% recycled packaging. We use Australia Post.

4. We fund and stop 10kg of CO2 from reaching the atmosphere per pair sold. Audited by C2Zero.

5. Every pair funds and stops 1/2 kg of plastic trash (equ. to 25 x plastic bottles) from reaching a waterway. Audited by PlasticBank.

6. Each sale helps fund our work in education. Our clever design and thinking is now included in the Victorian Education Curriculum. We've also taught at UTS, UNSW, RMIT & the SHAPE HSC Seminars at the Powerhouse Museum. We believe in fostering the next generation of thinkers.

7. To achieve our mission of untrashing the planet, we have to attract new customers and to do that we have to advertise across many different channels. It's just part of doing good business but it doesn't come cheap!

When you add all this up, we hope you'll agree our pricing is fair and you'll see your contribution is making real change.

Sustainability - tell me more!

The word 'sustainable' is overused and can be confusing. So to be clear, this is our version of sustainable.

100% recycled frames
Our frames are made from the plastic of one discarded post -consumer PET bottle. Nothing else is added - no metal, no screws - making them recyclable too.

Ethical manufacturing
We make our frames in Sydney so we can control the manufacturing process to ensure no one nor the planet is harmed. And no cheap labour!

End of life
We take back broken parts to be recycled. Please email us and we’ll give you the free Reply Paid address to send them to.

Less CO2
Because we use only 100% recycled plastic in our frames, we use 70-75% less CO2 in our manufacturing than almost all other brands who use virgin materials (brand new plastic/ bioacetate).

Less waste
Our manufacturing process is zero waste. Every piece of our off-cut plastic finds a new home.

Less energy
Because we've reengineered the frame, we use less energy in our production. We make a frame in 100 seconds instead of the typical 100 hours.

Sunnies made by the sun
Our manufacturing partner has installed some serious solar panels on the factory roof. We only run our frame making machines in the day to take advantage of this renewable power. Good job the sun always shines in Sydney!

Lenses
Our lenses are manufactured by Carl Zeiss Vision in Hong Kong. We cut and fit our lenses at Zeiss in Adelaide.

Box, case & cloth
All are made from 100% recycled materials in our certified factories in China (via our local agent in Sydney).

Plastic removal
Through Plastic Bank, we prevent plastic waste from reaching the ocean. The process 100% traceable and certified. Each pair sold removes 0.5kg (equiv. to 25 plastic bottles) from rivers and waterways.

Carbon removal
We lock away 10kg of CO2 through C2Zero who uses Mastercard Blockchain.

Delivery
We use compostable mailing satchels that you can bury in your garden and we use Australia Post's carbon neutral postal service.
